Painting is my muse. I find that most of my inspiration bleeds through when I start playing with shapes and colors. I tend to use a impressionists style, however, I get bored quickly if I don’t challenge myself to try something different. I use a wide range of mixed media, such as acrylic, watercolor, ink, and oils. I also don’t stop with canvases... I’ll paint anything I can get my hands on, from guitars to furniture, to boxes and nick nacks.
It seems as if I’ve had a camera in my hand longer than I’ve held a paintbrush. Photography benefits me in countless ways. It’s the most efficient way for me to capture the beauty around me, so that I may reference back to it later in other projects. Not to mention it’s an easy way to get the creativity flowing, and there’s no mess to clean up afterwards.. which may or may not be a plus-side to everyone.
I dabble in all forms of photography, however, I usually keep with nature & people, since that is most commonly the focal point in my paintings. I also enjoy the unpredictability of portraits and nature shots. I can almost guarantee to walk away with some form of “jewel” that I wasn’t expecting. The interaction between people and the planet has always been the one of the most interesting aspects to capture
on film.
Helping others spread their message is quite rewarding. I enjoy taking a person’s concept and turning it into something they can hold & share with others. I have experience with designing Business Cards, Invitations, Stationery, Logos, & Posters.
I also have a passion in helping local musicians with their press kits and getting other artists noticed!
Making jewelry is a new hobby of mine. Anything that I sale is truly one of a kind. I’m a recycle artist in that I use whatever “pretty-things” I can find lying around. I’m presently working on mini top hats and bridal wreaths/veils. Pics coming soon!
